After just touching down in Kampala in Uganda, I knew exactly what the first thing I needed to do was. Try the local food and drinks. But how could I go local without first learning the language of the streets of Kampala, Luganda!? And so, after a bit of studying, I set off to Nakasero Market in search of some matooke (plantains), Uganda's favorite dish.
