Is This Somalia? Kenya's Unknown Somali State ()

It was time for a journey to Garissa, Kenya's border with Somalia. Starting in Eastleigh, the famous "Little Somalia" of Nairobi, I found a bus that would make the 7 hour journey to the northeast. Kenyans had told me that Garissa was dangerous, that there was terrorism, that I could be kidnapped. It was hard to tell fact from fiction, but I was dead set on meeting the Somalis of Kenya. #sabbatical #kenya #africa
