It was my first time in Indonesia, and I just so happened to arrive right when Ramadan started. I was interested in the old city of Trowulan, the capital of the Majapahit Empire. Nowadays it's just a few ruins scattered amongst some rice and sugarcane fields. What were the descendants of the Majapahit people like today? I would've been happy to ask them over a beer, but it seemed they were all fasting.
