There are endless places to eat street food when you're in Bangkok. Nong Stamp (ร้านอาหาร น้องแสตมป์) is a restaurant located near the Phlap Phla Chai Intersection in Bangkok, near Chinatown. It's a wonderful place to sit outdoors on the sidewalk and enjoy a few dishes.
The restaurant is located in the kuay teow kua gai alley area, just a stones throw from one of the best spots (http://www.eatingthaifood.com/2014/04/kuay-teow-kua-gai-nai-hong-bangkok/), and they also serve a seafood version at Nong Stamp (ร้านอาหาร น้องแสตมป์) known as khua gai ruam talay (คั่วไก่รวมทะเล). I decided to eat it for appetizer. It was a plate of wide rice noodles, stir fried on high heat, so they slightly charred on the outside, and mixed with a few different seafood items. The dish was quite good, especially when added with some extra chili flakes.
But for myself, even better than the noodles are the Chinese style Thai stir fried dishes at Nong Stamp (ร้านอาหาร น้องแสตมป์). They have basically any combination of normal Thai stir fried dishes, and you can choose to eat regular rice, or a bowl of khao tom (ข้าวต้ม), which is rice porridge and it common to eat with this sort of cuisine. I decided to go for the khao tom (ข้าวต้ม) this time. To eat, just grab a few bites of the dish, place it over your rice, and then take a bite.
We ordered a few different dishes. Probably my favorite dish of the meal was kanaeng moo krob (แขนงหมูกรอบ), or brussels sprouts stir fried with crispy pork belly. The sprouts were stir fried perfectly, on a really high fire, so they were still nice and crisp, and remained so fresh tasting. The added pieces of small crispy pork belly added to the deliciousness. Overall, it was my favorite dish. Another dish we ordered was the Nahm Liab Moo Sab (หนำเลี๊ยบหมูสับ), minced pork fried with salted Chinese olives. It tasted almost like fried minced sausage, and it was excellent, but it was a little on the oily and greasy side. It's the type of Thai street food that you want to eat rather slowly, just enjoy the salty flavors, and maybe drink a beer or two. The food is salty, but does taste good.
Overall, I liked the atmosphere at Nong Stamp (ร้านอาหาร น้องแสตมป์), and I thought the food was quite good, worth visiting again.
