Having the chance to sit chef’s counter while the chef himself cuts and grills each piece of meat in front of you, was extraordinary. Nakahara is regarded as one of the top yakiniku, Japanese bbq, restaurants in Tokyo. The owner / chef takes has dedicated his life to perfecting yakiniku (and his flawless deep fried wagyu cutlet sandwich as well). When you eat at Nakahara, you can go through a series of courses that cover the cow, from the tongue to the intestines to the sirloin and skirt steak. The tongue was amazing, the intestines were a little on the chewy side, and the wagyu beef was insane. Eating Japanese food yakiniku and premium wagyu beef at Nakahara Restaurant in Tokyo was one of the most memorable meals I’ve had.
